About Kathy Roberts

I'm Kathy Roberts ... a compassionate, skilled and experienced therapist who can help you develop the skills to cope and flourish. Let's do this together!

What I Believe

Everyone wants to be happy and healthy. But sometimes, life can get in the way. Adults, teens and children can all face challenges that hold them back from living their best, most enjoyable lives. And when one family member is struggling, the whole family is affected.

The goal of therapy is to help navigate the roadbumps that impact mental health ... to provide emotional support, validate feelings and problems, help resolve conflicts, and find solutions that lead to real and lasting change.

My Counselling Style

I'm a people person. I'm compassionate, patient, enthusiastic and spontaneous. My approach to counselling is strength-based and relational. I meet you where you're at. From this safe space, I'll understand your hopes and challenges, and help you to recognize your strengths. Then together, we'll decide how to build on those strengths, set meaningful goals and develop strategies to meet those goals.

Everyone is unique. During our sessions together, we'll use the therapeutic techniques that work best for you. My toolkit is grounded in trauma-informed care, and includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), EFIT (Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Family-Based Treatment (for eating disorders).
